Guangdong Textile Polytechnic is the only vocational institute of textile and fashion in Guangdong. The institute consists of eight departments and two sections -- Textile Department, Light Chemistry Engineering Department, Fashion Department, Department of Art Design, Department of Mechanical & Electrical Technology, Department of Information Technology, Department of Economics & Management, Department of Applied Foreign Languages, Basic Courses Section, and Continuing Education Section, with a faculty of more than 300 staff, among which 80% are professors or lecturers. It provides a nice and pleasant campus for about 6,000 students, and it is also prized as one of the star institutes in the first National Vocational College Employment Competition, with one government-funded Vocational Training Base, one National College Excellent Course, and two Provincial College Excellent Courses.
